Baby Nick cries in his dark room and it wakes his parents up. Baby crying voice is a common problem that most parents have to be patient during the middle of the night. The parents who are the beginners would understand that in the early childhood, the baby does not develop the language yet to communicate with adults completely. The baby can only communicate with the parents through the baby’s crying. It has been found that the baby has many reasons to cry and in the comic strip, Adam is familiar of his son crying as he knows he will play the magic to tire his son back to sleep. He does not show any fury or angry emotions and it is a good example for the beginners to learn and this might be what the cartoonist wants parents to see their kids’ heart more important than their kids whining.



I look at Adam’s reaction of baby crying and he responds it very tired. It could be a major reason why workers who have the baby do not look well when they go to work in the morning. It is very important for parents to keep healthy in a good position because tiredness from awakening in the middle of the night can reduce the efficiency of work and it will be worse at the result if the workers get injured during working. Adam is a lucky worker. He does not have to be a morning person and leaves the house in rushed hour. He stays at home and, he can wake up anytime he wants. The cartoonist possibly is showing that men who stay at home have nothing to lose. Men should be happy to work at home.

Adam can do the magic. This might be the cartoonist’s wish to encourage the men by showing an example of what men will do if they stay home and feel bored. Perhaps men who work at home can get this idea and learn to play the magic as a cool hobby to do at home. The cartoonist shows Adam’s ability of being a magician. He possibly wants us to see the reflection of what men in the society will do if they occur to change the behaviors instead of from going out and staying at home. Adam finds his hobby time to practice on the magic while he is staying at home. He is not stressed from the work even he has to get up during the night and looks after his baby. We can sense that Adam is trying to cope his work while he is keeping himself busy doing his magic and that brings him a cheerful dad with kids.

In the second comic strip, I found that Adam was sick. Like I said at the above, he might get sick if he did not take enough sleep while taking a look after baby Nick. Now his sickness became a concern to his wife; either he could not work. He could not get up and could not talk to his wife. He has to rely on his wife. I could not believe that his wife is not scared to see her husband in the serious illness and called for emergency. In the opposite, she called her work for being an absent from work and stays at home instead. Perhaps, Adam does not want to go hospital. Now she can’t go anywhere and her burden at home became double. She has to take care of three kids.

Eventually, Adam can talk at the end of the comic strip. He is getting better and he should get to work out to keep his health strong. It was sarcastic he is not only a father and a worker who is at home but he is also became a patient who stays at home as there is a place like hospital for himself.
